2013 WSOP

Event 53

Buy-In: $1,500

Number of Entries: 2,816

Total Net Prize Pool: $3,801,600

Champion: Brett Shaffer

First Place Prize: $665,397

I started this year in the Brasilia Room.

Table 53 Seat 3

This was not my best performance. As luck would have it I was sat next to David Vamplew, who was one of the hottest players at the WSOP this year. He finished 2nd in 2 events, 16th in a 3rd event, and made a long run in the main event. This tournament was one of his second place finishes.

../Images/Jeff.jpg He obviously was playing many tournaments and playing an extremely aggressive style. The strategy is to double up early or go out early and go on to the next tournament.

I was cruising along, increasing my chip stack with each hour until he sat down. I flopped a set of Kings and got in a raising war with him until we was all in. He had a flush draw and hit it on the river. I had him covered but it left me with about $1,000 in chips.

Day 1

Time Notes from the tournament
Level 1
Chip count $4,500
Level 2
Chip count $5,200
Level 3
Chip count $6,400
Crippled when I flopped a set of Kings and got in a raising war with David Vamplew. He 4 bet me all in with a flush draw. And sure enough, he hit his flush on the river.

Left me with about $1,000 in chips
Level 4
Chip count $1,000
Put my last $800 or so in with AQ and found myself up against pocket 10's. I did not improve and was done

I am done
